NameradarPrivacy Policy
Short version: Nameradar does not collect, store or sell any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Everything you save stays on your device.
1. Who we are
Nameradar is developed by Burak Şahin, an independent developer ("we"). Contact: contact@burak.me.
2. Data stored on your device
Your watchlist, search history, selected extensions and settings are stored only in the app's private storage on your device. We have no servers and never receive this data. Deleting the app deletes it. You can clear your history at any time in Settings.
3. Domain lookups
To check a name, the app sends the domain you search for (for example brand.com) directly from your device to:
- the registry responsible for that extension, using RDAP (the official successor to WHOIS), for example Verisign for .com;
- for extensions without RDAP, and as a fallback, the DNS-over-HTTPS resolvers of Cloudflare (1.1.1.1) and Google Public DNS;
- once a week, the public IANA list of registry servers (data.iana.org).
As with any internet request, these services receive your IP address and the domain name being looked up, under their own privacy policies. The requests contain no identifier, account or device information from us.
4. Purchases
Nameradar Pro subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never see your name, Apple ID, Google account or payment details; the app only receives confirmation that a subscription is active.
5. Notifications
Watchlist alerts are local notifications generated on your device after it re-checks your saved domains. No push server is involved. On Android the re-check runs in the background with WorkManager about every 4 hours. You can turn notifications off in the system settings at any time.
6. Registrar links
When you tap "Register", the chosen registrar's website (Namecheap, Porkbun, Cloudflare, GoDaddy or Name.com) opens with the domain name filled in. That site's own privacy policy applies. We receive no commission or data from registrars.
7. This website
nameradar.burak.me is a static site hosted by Vercel. It sets no cookies and uses no analytics. Vercel may process standard server logs (such as IP address and user agent) to operate and secure the service. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts.
8. Children
Nameradar does not collect personal data from anyone, including children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country).
9. Your rights
Because we do not hold personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete. If you have questions about your rights under the GDPR, KVKK (Türkiye), CCPA or any other law, email contact@burak.me.
10. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update it on this page and change the effective date above.
